We are the charity that makes it easier for people to walk and cycle

We are engineers and educators, experts and advocates. We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute.

Sustrans works in partnership, bringing people together to find the right solutions. We make the case for walking and cycling by using robust evidence and showing what can be done.

We are grounded in communities and believe that grassroots support combined with political leadership drives real change, fast.

Our cargo bike library allows businesses and organisations in Edinburgh to borrow a bike for free to trial moving their goods in a more cost-effective and sustainable way. This exciting project aims to introduce electric cargo bikes onto the streets of Scotland’s towns and cities. We want reduce congestion and give businesses more time and energy to engage with their customers.  The Cargo Bike Library allows free short and long term loans to allow organisations to trial how an electric cargo bike could fit into their day to day activities.

The Sustrans Cargo Bike Library is funded by Transport Scotland.
