Kleuster, manufacturer of urban mobility solutions for professionals

Born from the innovation of Lyon-based company Kleuster, the brand’s range of reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable cargo bikes has been addressing the real-world needs of urban and peri-urban professionals for over a decade.

In 2022, Renault Trucks, sharing a similar professional customer base facing the same urban challenges, chose to form a strategic partnership with Kleuster. The goal: to combine Renault Trucks’ industrial expertise with Kleuster’s agility and on-the-ground innovation, in order to offer practical, decarbonized urban mobility solutions.

Since the beginning of this collaboration, Kleuster cargo bikes have been assembled at Renault Trucks’ historic factory in Saint-Priest, a strong symbol of French industrial roots and the shared commitment to quality upheld by both brands. Sales and after-sales service are handled by the Renault Trucks distribution network, ensuring trusted, local support on a national scale.

The Kleuster 350: A Concentration of Innovation for Intensive Urban Use

Developed by the Renault Trucks research & development teams, the Kleuster 350 benefits from the full expertise of a heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer from design and engineering, to structural analysis and robustness requirements. The goal? To deliver the reliability, durability, and industrial precision of a truck, applied to an electric cargo bike.

The Kleuster 350 stands out with a technical design tailored for intensive urban use. It features a chainless transmission system, where an electronic pedal sensor communicates directly with the rear hub motor. By eliminating the traditional mechanical drivetrain (chain, belt, derailleur, sprockets, etc.), this technology greatly improves the bike’s uptime and reduces maintenance needs, while providing a smooth and reliable riding experience day after day.

Equipped with front and rear suspension, the Kleuster 350 ensures optimal comfort and stability, even on uneven urban roads. Designed with flexibility in mind, it comes with a swappable battery system, offering up to 35 km of range per battery. Its exceptional manoeuvrability, with a turning radius of just 2.4 metres, makes it a valuable ally for professionals navigating tight city streets and limited parking spaces.

The Kleuster 350 has been developed in compliance with the new EN 17860 standard, currently under validation. In addition, close collaboration with UTAC has enabled the integration of additional safety features, not required by regulation, but delivering real added value in terms of user safety and protection. As a result, the level of safety and engineering applied exceeds current regulatory standards.
