Carrier is a new magazine brought to you by the International Cargo Bike Festival
We’re publishing the first edition of Carrier to coincide with the 2023 International Cargo Bike Festival (ICBF) in Amsterdam (24-26 November).
Picking up where the ICBF Magazine left off – but with a refreshed format, look and feel, Carrier will feature an engaging mix of cargo bike stories with a truly international flavour.
The magazine will be available for free; in high-quality print at the ICBF and online. In line with our goal of bringing the cargo bike to a mainstream audience, we are also exploring other avenues for publishing Carrier in print. Watch this space for more details…
What and where
- Published annually; in print and online
- Extraordinary visuals and dynamic, readable content designed to inform and entertain
- Interviews, news, tips, and in-depth features
- Compact B5 print format makes it easy to bring it with you
- Remains online for years to come
What's in a name?
Some people use the term ‘carrier cycles‘ as a more inclusive alternative to cargo bike – which implies two wheels. A carrier cycle can have two, three, four or more wheels. It follows then that the term better reflects the diversity of pedal-powered cargo carrying bikes, trikes and quads which are out there in the world, fulfilling a wide range of different functions.
That’s the literal explanation, but there’s also a metaphorical one. Carrier will help to carry the principles, ideas and concepts that underpin cargo bikes and carrier cycles into the mainstream.

Legacy
Carrier is the successor to the long-running ICBF Magazine. First published in 2016 as an guide to the ICBF itself, the magazine went on to outgrow this role, annually delivering relevant, outward-facing cargo bike content to a niche audience.
Carrier will build upon this legacy while elevating it with beautiful design and hand-picked content from around the world and ambitious, inclusive and outward-facing instincts.
But don’t worry, the ICBF Magazine archive will remain online – all back-issues are still available to read for free.
