FOLDEE is an Australian-designed folding cargo bike created to solve one of the biggest barriers to cargo bike ownership: size. Traditional cargo bikes are incredibly useful, but they’re often difficult to store, transport and live with. FOLDEE combines the carrying capacity and ride quality of a full-size cargo bike with a patented double-hinge frame that folds in seconds, making it practical for apartments, public transport, travel and everyday urban life.

Our design philosophy

Designed in Melbourne, FOLDEE has been developed through years of prototyping, real-world testing and continual refinement. Every aspect of the bike has been considered with simplicity, repairability and longevity in mind – from its modular construction and recyclable steel frame to a folding system that is easy to service and maintain. Rather than reinventing cycling, our aim has always been to build a cargo bike that simply feels like “just a bike” to ride, regardless of whether it’s carrying children, groceries or equipment.

Looking forward

In 2026, FOLDEE was honoured to receive the EUROBIKE Start-Up Award, with the jury recognising its nimble ride, lightweight feel and ability to make cargo bike ownership accessible to people with limited storage space. We see this not as the end of the journey, but as the beginning. Our ambition is to continue refining the platform, expanding internationally and demonstrating that thoughtful, design-led innovation can encourage more people to choose bicycles over cars for everyday transport.
