Exhibitor: Townmaking

Over the past decade, the Townmaking / Town Industries has been researching how to build resilient cycling cultures, identifying key challenges. Through several years of research, Stichting Townmaking has studied and worked with local businesses such as bike shops, couriers and other professional users of bicycles. We develop appropriate technologies that empower local production and maintenance.
Our CargoBike is developed with local businesses and designed around their practical needs. Rather than relying on online sales and remote service, the bikes are intended to be assembled, maintained and serviced through local mechanics.
The LiveWire BatterySystem is built around experience with lifecycle issues and reducing complexity in the battery system. LiveWire therefore focuses not only on the battery itself, but also on how multiple batteries can be used, maintained and charged over their lifetime.
The BatteryPassport. From 2027 onwards, new EU battery regulations will make this increasingly important for placing batteries on the European market. We have developed the BatteryPassport with the practical needs of battery producers, importers, users and the service chain in mind.
At the International Cargo Bike Festival, we are looking to meet partners who want to contribute to this development: on the CargoBike, LiveWire, BatteryPassport and BFLN.
