This past weekend, Nijland Cycling marked two significant milestones — the opening of their brand new building and the company’s 35th anniversary. On Friday and Saturday, the company welcomed over 1,000 visitors to a festive Open House event. Guests were treated to guided factory tours, where team members gave them a look behind the curtain at the development and production processes behind Nijland Cycling’s adaptive bikes and Cargo Cycling cargo bikes.

As a family-owned social enterprise, Nijland Cycling has deep roots in the non-standard, adaptive bike market with its Nijland brand and has become a trusted supplier in the B2B cargo bike sector with Cargo Cycling. This celebration was not only about the company’s history, but just as much about the community and partnerships that have supported the Nijland family business along the way.

A message on Nijland’s website read:

“We look back on this special day with pride and gratitude. It was not only a moment to look back on 35 beautiful years, but also to look forward to all that is yet to come. We remain committed to smart, sustainable and accessible mobility – and look forward to the future with great confidence and energy.”

Congratulations from us at the ICBF to all at Nijland and Cargo Cycling!

Cargo Cycling will – as ever – be present at ICBF 2025. Join us in Utrecht on 13-14th October to meet the makers and take Cargo Cycling’s range for a spin on the test track:
