Scan your city for velotaxi opportunities with Lentekracht

In their quest to keep their ever-busier cities accessible to all, more and more municipalities are looking for smart and sustainable transportation options. Logistics by cargo bike and people by foot, bicycle, public transportation, or… velotaxi! A well-known concept in many Asian countries, velotaxis (or bicycle taxis) can provide cities all around the world with easy, clean and accessible urban transportation. To help municipalities map out the possibilities of velotaxis for their own cities Lentekracht, in collaboration with Fietsdiensten.nl, has developed a series of easy, low-cost velotaxi feasibility scans.

A very first feasibility study in Nijmegen showed velotaxis could especially help in keeping the city centre accessible for elderly and disabled citizens and visitors (see infographic). Other promising opportunities to use velotaxis included events and festivals.

Lentekracht and Fietsdiensten.nl now aim to employ their velotaxi scan in other cities as well. Would you like to scan your city for velotaxi opportunities? Please contact Lentekracht via info@lentekracht.com.
