This week we received a message from Otasowie Obayuwana – CEO of TFS Cargo Bicycles in Nigeria – which we’d like to share with you.

“I’m excited to share the recent update of TFS Cargo Bicycles at the Rethinking Transport Lab: Just Mobility in Urban and Rural Areas, organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Our representative, Osamede Obayuwana, was instrumental in our active participation in this event, held in Cape Town, South Africa, from February 26th to March 1st, 2024.

The workshop brought together mostly academics and government agencies representatives from across Africa, converging on discussions about policy changes and solutions in the field of just mobility transition on the continent. As a private player in the just mobility sector, TFS Cargo Bicycles seized the opportunity to contribute to these critical discussions, emphasizing the transformative role of cargo and e-cargo bicycles for economic development in urban and rural households.

Osamede delivered a compelling presentation on the final day of the workshop, shedding light on the economic benefits and community impact of our innovative cargo bicycles. This event not only allowed us to share our insights but also provided a valuable platform to learn from other experts in the dynamic field of just mobility transition in Africa.

During the lab, we made a noteworthy connection with Shantha Bloemen from Mobility for Africa in Zimbabwe. Additionally, a site visit to the Langa Bicycle Hub in Cape Town facilitated valuable interactions with their team. These engagements have opened doors for potential collaborations and partnerships, aligning seamlessly with our vision of expanding our influence and creating a sustainable impact in Africa.

As TFS Cargo Bicycles positions itself as a leader in sustainable transportation solutions in Africa, your continuous support remains indispensable. We are confident that the knowledge gained and the connections established during this lab will significantly contribute to our growth & expansion trajectory.

We believe that TFS Cargo Bicycles has not just JOINED THE CONVERSATION on mobility issues in Africa with our participation at the Rethinking Transport Lab, but is poised to BECOME THE CONVERSATION with the launch of our newest cargo bicycle models soon.”
